1 A Mario-themed Switch platformer game
A bright, kid-friendly Mario adventure is the heart of any Switch collection, and these games are gentle enough for a 9-year-old to play solo but fun to share with you on the couch.
2 A Mario kart racing game for Switch
Kart racing is the easiest way to get everyone from cousins to grandparents into the game, and the skill-assist options keep a 9-year-old competitive against older players.
3 A hard-shell Switch carrying case with game slots
If the Switch travels to grandma's house or on car trips, a padded case with cartridge slots protects the screen and keeps tiny games from vanishing under the seat.
